Maarten Mostert (Amsterdam) Maarten Mostert studied with Elias Arizcuren and Anner Bijlsma at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. After his final degree, he continued his musical education with the Russian-born cellist Dmitry Ferschtman, and at the chambermusic class of the Amadeus Quartet in Köln.
During and after his studies Maarten Mostert was member of several succesfull chambermusic ensembles, among others of the Demian Quintet. He has also been playing and teaching at several Festivals and courses in different countries like Spain, Great-Britain, Germany and the Netherlands. Maarten was one of the founders, and is still member of the Chamber Orchestra Amsterdam Sinfonietta (formerly known as Nieuw Sinfonietta Amsterdam). For 15 years he has also been the artistic coordinator of the ensemble. Maarten Mostert is professor at the Conservatory of Amsterdam, and the founder, organizer and artistic leader of the Amsterdamse Cello Biënnale, one of the main cello-festivals in the world. |
