The Masterclass Open Strings 2008 will take place in these attractive surroundings, blessed with peace and atmosphere. Frederiksdal is not only a farming estate; it is also the cradle of a rich tradition of concerts which date back to our first public performance in the summer of 1981. The light-favoured rooms with the high ceilings offer the ideal setting for the enjoyment of chamber music. This inspired us to present these four annual performances of high artistic value to a much neglected audience.

Over the years Frederiksdal has been the host of several masterclasses and Open Strings 2008 is in fact the fifth cello masterclass.
